Australian Designed and Manufactured HD coils specifically made for your ATECO / ASV Australian Ram 1500.

Murchison Products has been at the forefront of 4x4 coil technology with our Australian made CRDSTU coil range spanning all models of Jeep from the early 2000's to current, fitted in thousands of vehicles in the USA and even more here in Australia!

Now we've taken the design philosophy used to create our Jeep coils and created a range for the Ram 1500. Have a read through the options below to find the best combination for your Ram - We've got all bases covered! 

About Ram 1500 Suspension:

The stock front end of the 1500's sit really close (too close in fact) to the bump stop strike and you can really feel it, the factory does this to tilt the nose down for aero and stance. Once you add a front bullbar your Ram is literally resting on the bump stops. So - enter our coils.

Murchison Ram 1500 Front Coils: Our HD coils add just over 12% spring rate over the stock front coil (which gives height increase and ride quality increase) so it works in harmony with all gneuine and aftermarket shock absorbers.

Murchison Ram 1500 Rear Coils: We have 3 options for the rear, a 20% increase rate, a 40% and an EX HD 60% version for canopy back style setups with heaps of load. The larger of the 3 being for constant or permanent high loads ie: a rear canopy or steel tray / tradie ute back service body's etc.

You can also add the Airbag Man airbags to our rear coils for the ultimate in load carrying without sacrificing the ride quality - just remember, the coil's job is to carry the load and provide the ride height - the airbag is a 'helper' to this, not a recommended sole method of load carrying as it gives a harsh ride quality.

To finish off the suspension tuning we also have a EX HD rear Hellwig swaybar option. The swaybar upgrade is mainly for "higher center of gravity whilst loaded" situations.

Our coils are also compatible with all shock options. Stock, Bilstein, Fox and Falcon shocks are the only shocks we deal in and for good reason.

All Murchison coils come with a full Lifetime Warranty against sagging and breakage and are PROUDLY 100% AUSTRALIAN MADE!

Price usually dictates shock selection for the most part which is a shame, but we will leave one recommendation with you - if you change from an empty/unloaded daily driven 1500 to a fully loaded setup or are intent on doing long haul towing with heavy loads behind your Ram, then it's a good idea to put your money towards some quality shocks. The ride quality changes are very noticeable and your spine will thank you for it!

Murchison Coils + MP Bilstein Shocks

This matched set of Bilstein's gives you a front replacement strut and a rear, longer travel shock.
Bilstein 5100 Series (made in the USA) shocks feature a monotube design for cooler, more efficient operation and longer life. They have the largest available piston diameter for this level of shock, providing superior handling and performance. The shocks' patented digressive valving instantly reacts to changing surface conditions for maximum comfort and control— both on and off the road. These shocks also have split compression and rebound valving tuned for each specific application.

•  14mm centerless-ground, case-hardened, chromed, and super-polished rod
•  46mm Bilstein digressive piston
•  Self-adjusting, deflective-disc independent rebound and compression

We've worked very hard and gone through a few test coil rates/designs to come up with the perfect recipe for your daily driver Ram 1500, and let's face it its a beautiful ride so you don't want a truck or train-like stiff spring in there ruining the experience.
The various vehicles we put our test coils in (including our own Ram 1500), had an array of different setups therefore weights. Alloy winch bars, with & without steel winch mounts, portable bolt in hitch mounted winches, and no bar on the front which will sit them approx 10mm higher. 

We include a pair of front strut top plates to add an extra 10mm of height if you require it should you want that 2.5/3.0" look or if you were to change/upgrade later on down the track to a bull bar.  This way our kit has that little extra flexibility in it when it comes to ride heights. As mentioned above there are 3 different rear coils availble, all with GVM upgraded specs. 20% 40% or 60% increased rate so please select your drop-down box accurately.

Iif you want that 3" rear look but are not carrying the loads, the 40% coil will give you that exactly while still retaining a brilliant ride quality.

Got a heavy load on the back of your Ram? Steel tray + canopy or tool boxes? Then this set up is for you! You get everything in the kit above, along with our Murchison Dual Rear Shock System.

We're the first and only suspension specialists to come to market with a dual rear shock option for the Ram 1500, and for good reason! We understand the loads that are placed on these vehciles, and the suspension needs like no one else.

The Murchison Dual Rear Shock System for the Ram 1500 not only halves the stress placed on the rear shocks but doubles the dampening rate. THis gives you a stronger rear suspension setup and a much smoother ride when carrying the realy heavy loads.

 

Murchison Coils + Retain Standard OE Shocks

Some Ram owners aren't going to load up there vehciles - a 2" lift, new wheels with larger tyres, and you have a great looking daily driver! For these Ram's we've retained the stock shocks - reason being is that they ride really well with 2" of extra height on board and our matched spring rates still give a improved factory like ride, so good in fact our customers' are telling us its far better!

GVM Upgrade

Currently, we can only offer this from our workshop in Queensland on QLD registered vehicles, but we are actively seeking engineers in other states to approve our GVM for their respected transport dept. Our GVM Increase is 10% which takes the Ram 1500 up to 3795kgs MAX. We do not recommend trying to exceed this amount whatsover as we belive the vehicle isn't really built for that - if you want or need higher you should have bought a 2500!

The 1500 platform is brilliant, and in our opinion drives better than a 2500 - but you you have to be carefull about squeezing more and more KGs onto it without expecting any problems. The USA Spec 1500's that come into this country have a factory 4.3T towing capability - the reason (from what we can gather) is that the Australian Design Rules for our roads categorise 4x4s as 3.5T Towing or 4.5T Towing - above that and its a Light Truck Vehicle which required different licencing  - so the car had a "Paperwork Towing Capability" upgrade without any physical changes besides a ADR Approved Towbar.

JBA A-Arms (Ram 1500 Upper Control Arms)

All Ram 1500 models have independent front suspension and require replacement of factory upper control arms when lifted beyound 3". If factory UCAs are not replaced, your Ram 1500 alignment and clearances can be incorrect.

When Ram 1500s are lifted, caster is lost from the front-end alignment. Caster is critical for stability over 80km per hour and returns the steering wheel to center after going around a corner. Additionally, factory upper control arms often rub on the front springs at certain articulations. 

Please Note: If your ram is spending a decent of its time offroad or is constantly going over corrigations, it's a good idea to have these arms installed! The JBA ball joint has a greater range of movment, and is much stronger than the stock one. The arm itself can take the forces of offroad use, and stand up to the demands of a Ram that's driven offroad.

Hellwig HD Swaybar

The swaybar upgrade is mainly for higher center of gravity loaded stuations. Tall water sprayers, or canopys with a high load at the top; such top-heavy ladder racks, or giant roof top tents. These HD swaybars work extremely effectively especially in conjunction with our Dual Rear Shock System. 

They "pull down" the nose of the vehicle and help initial corner turn in response  - along with generally limiting that level of sway that a higher 4x4 can sometimes experience when travelling down a freeway.
