Ram 1500 DS intermediate spud shaft for front diff
The DS Ram 1500 has been known to snap the inner passengers side short spud shaft on occasion. It also can wear down causing a knocking noise in the front end. This is the inner or “intermediate” front passenger side spud shaft that resides in the diff itself. If replacing the CV its best to replace this part as well – also some people have one of these in the spares kit when travelling as a preventative if it fails.
