King Springs have been the leader in Australian Vehicle Specific R&D and Manufacture of Coils since 1956 and our relationship with them started all the way back in late 1999!!
When we asked for a range of coils to suit the Ineos Grenadier the team came up with a carefully spec’d range of front and rear coils, both in load carrying requirements and standard setups. The Original Coils of the Grenadier are actually brilliant, they are long travel, strong design and work really well however they are ultra soft – too soft in fact to carry any sort of extra weight around. With this in mind we’ve come up with a tweaked version keeping close to the original but increasing wire diameter and also optimising the coil wire material itself to create the recipe.
Kings use an X5K Material from BHP and this is considered a “Next Generation High Strength Spring Steel” that with-stands high stress operating conditions, has superior resistance to sag and provides a much higher corrosion resistance which is essential when you live on an island like Australia!!
There are 2 options for front and rear and both with yield a 45-55mm lift depending on the weight you carry. I also do a 3″ front coil to suit Bar and winch and a 2.5″ rear to suit constant weight.
Weight is the key here. Some people want a lift coil that can carry load on an occasional basis and for that you would use the regular part no# as they are classified as ‘HD” compared to stock with a stronger spring rate. For the vehicles that have a winch up front and some permanent gear in the back you would use the HD specific part no# as they are referred to as “Extra Heavy Duty” – a level above the regular part no#.
You can use the Extra Heavy Duty in a standard setup and you will achieve a slightly taller lift and this gives you the flexibility to add the weight down the track.
At the end of the day we’ve got a coil to suit your setup, just give me a call on 0413860777 and ill take you through it
