Murchison Ram Adventure Rack

This rack is for the Ram 1500 & 2500 DS models.           Adventure Racks for the new Ram 1500 DT is coming early 2022.

Will fit new shape Ram 2500 DJII 2020 onwards as well

Designed and built right here in Brisbane supporting local jobs, the new Murchison Adventure Rack Version 2 Update for the Ram 1500 and 2500 is now available!

The Ram Adventure Rack suits all Ram tubs – 4 models to choose from (5.7 and 6.4 ft Ram regular and RAMBOX tubs.) The Murchison Adventure rack is a bolt-on-bolt-off system, and can be optioned with Cross Bars, Tonneau Cover, or a series of LED worklights and reverse lights. The normal range of commonly available solar panels also fit nicely into the top mounted tray area. The 2nd generation genuine mopar tonneau cover is not compatible with the trifold, the Adventure Rack was designed with the initial genuine Mopar Black Trifold which has the genuine tag on it. We have noticed that the smooth vinyl versions are an aftermarket one supplied by Mopar ex USA but are not the same as the original. Pls note you may have to purchase a Truxedo Prox15 roll back cover instead.

HD Aluminium Construction 

We use 3″ hoops made from the thicker 4.7m wall thickness for ultimate durability and a 5mm thick top tray. Easy access rear grab handles also help hoping up into the rear of the truck, especially once lifted with bigger tyres and suspension!  We’ve also taken steps in the design to carefully execute the mountings of the hoops so as not to interfere with the Truxedo range of tonneau covers we sell. The Truxedo Prox15 is by far the most versatile, neat and tidy slimline Tonneau available for the Ram. The tri fold types are not very user friendly as people are finding out and most are changing to the Truxedo’s. The 2nd gen smooth Mopar tri-fold cover that comes with the tub will not work with the Adventure Rack.

Please note that the RAMBOX models have weak rear corners and can potentially hairline crack if not mounted properly or if the vehicle travels on corrugated or rough roads. The rack is HD and will not break but we dont have faith in the strength of the rear corners. We advise all installers to contact us for the specific installation technique required when fitting this rack. MP hold no liability for cracking of the rear corners of the weak sheetmetal used in the construction of the RAMBOX tubs.  This cracking issue has been well documented for years in the USA.  We have now updated the Version 2 racks with an extra verticle mounting kit for the rear corners that bolts to the factory tub bolts – they are the rubber stoppers and plastic t bone pieces that you use to put your bed extender on. These are now incl in each kit.

A small amount of drilling is required to fit this rack.

Lastly, all wiring for lights and solar ect can be hidden inside the tubes all the way through to the inside of the OE tub.

Cross Bars

An optonal extra is a pair of top mount Cross Bars for the roof tray to allow for sucessful HD mounting of huge side awning setups and/or roof top tent options. It also (obviously) allows for the carrying of ocean Kayaks, can accept Tiny mounts and also larger 270deg Batwing/Foxwing Style Awnings.

There is NOTHING like this out on the market – its as slick in design and purpose as it is in the looks department. Theres nothing worse than an ugly set of hoops or bars on a try that have no aesthetics designed into them as we’re sure you would agree! This rack looks killer!

Truxedo Pro X-15 Tonneau Cover

A sleek, low-profile design is the signature of the Pro X-15. Spot Lights

We have included the option for between 2 – 8 spot lights. These aren’t your cheap ebay lights, the Base6 range is made in South Korea with 10 Watt Genuine CREE LEDs selected due to their quality and superior light output. Polycarbonate lenses are up to 10 times more impact-resistant than plastic or glass lenses. The heavy duty aluminium housings are powder coated for durability, they are shock proof and vibration resistant and built tough for Australian outback climate and conditions. Rated IP68 as “dust tight” and protected against complete, continuous submersion in water. We back this with a 5 year warranty for your piece of mind.

Cover Plates

Non Rambox Rams only. The cover plates are a purley asthetic choice for those who want something a bit different. A  two peice design, they have a box behinde the R-A-M cut out where a light can be fitted if you want that lit up at night. (Light and switch not included.) Pls note they only fit the non RAMBOX regular tubs

Shipping + Packing

For your convenience, we pre assemble the hoops with the head board screen and Cross Bars (if added to the order.)  This is then strapped down to a pallet for ease of shipping, and to keep the Adventure Rack safe and free of damage as possible. Because this ships on a pallet, you will need this delivered somewhere that has a forklift, or have multiple people who can help lift it off the truck. The rack + pallet weighs about 75kg.

Shipping is a flatrate fee of $475 to any business address in Australia, rural or remote areas may incur an additional fees. We can have this sent to the nearest TNT depot for collection as well. Due to pricing changes by TNT, this Adventure Rack attracts an addition $375 if delivered to a residential address.

Pls note the Tonneau Covers on the 6ft4 model are not compatible  – you must change out to a Truxedo Prox15 soft roll cover.

***Pls note, MP holds no liability over potential cracking of the rear tub corner edges. The RAMBOX models have very thin Sheetmetal folded in a very poor manner when it comes to the factory manufacturing of these tubs. You may want to check your corner edges now even before installing!!  We have been taking photos of peoples cars over the past 12months WITHOUT racks fitted to catalogue and found the majority to have hairline cracks in the paintwork already.  The main area of concern is the rear corner edge where it meets in a triangle fashion to go up against the side of the tailgate when closed. We have seen and been told by customers that their tubs WITHOUT racks fitted are even cracking and this is something we’re now seeing in the workshop with vehicles coming through with a year or 2 klms on board. We are working on a new vertical mount for the rear corners that drops into the inside of the rear tub verticle uprights to try and alleviate or help this problem. It is pretty poor on the manufacturers behalf to make such a tight and crimped folded metal edge without any weld or silver solider to finish it off!**  TBA****

Pls also check your RAMBOX plastic lids as there are reports of cracked plastic around the key button area.
